91st Annual National Watercolor Society (NWS) Traveling Exhibit opens 4 week run showcasing nationally significant watercolor paintings on Friday, May 18th, in Historic Downtown Grapevine!
Featuring 2011 national award winning watercolor paintings from the national watercolor competition by the NWS, this exhibit is one of the most significant art exhibits mounted outside the major Dallas and Fort Worth museums. Also on exhibit are three regional exhibitions: The Southwestern Watercolor Signature Member Juried Show from the Dallas watercolor society; The Society of Watercolors 2012 Members Invitational from the Fort Worth watercolor society and the hosting Grapevine Art Project (GAP) Juried Membership Exhibit.
Mission Statement. The mission of the Grapevine Art Project is to enlist a broad cross section of the community to support the visual arts through programs and events at unique local venues, with the objective of developing a recognized Grapevine regional art destination.The GAP mission statement was promoted during the years 2009-2011 thanks to the enthusiastic financial support of our Sponsor members. Gap issues a special thank you to these contributors and urge all who participated to renew their committments with a 2012 pledge.
GAP is a non-profit 501c3 corporation devoted to the visual arts in Grapevine, Texas, and in the North DFW Airport area of the Dallas Fort Worth metroplex.
We are an organization of people in support of the visual arts including appreciators, collectors, educators, patrons and artists and all are welcome. As of July, 2011, our membership numbered well over 100, with the majority of that number being member artists. The organization is growing rapidly and has ambitious dreams for the future and concrete plans for this year.
